The base fare is not the whole fare

A quoted base rate covers the vehicle, the chauffeur and the journey as described. It does not automatically cover things that depend on what happens during the trip - additional stops, waiting beyond the included allowance, tolls, parking, and early or late pickup fees. A good quote itemises those before you confirm; a bad one mentions them afterwards.

Waiting time on airport arrivals

Waiting runs from touchdown, not from the scheduled arrival. Domestic flights carry a shorter complimentary grace period than international ones, because international passengers have customs to clear. Beyond the allowance it is billed in increments. Hourly minimums and overtime

Three hours for sedans, SUVs, stretch limousines and economy vans; five for executive vans, stretch SUV limousines, coaches and party buses. Overtime rounds to the next full hour, plus gratuity, tax and surcharges. Garage-to-pickup travel time may be billed in thirty-minute increments. All of it is in the terms.

Gratuity, HST and surcharges

These should appear in the quote you approve, not on an invoice afterwards. If a quote looks materially cheaper than the alternatives, the first thing to check is whether tax and gratuity are inside it or outside it - that difference alone accounts for most suspiciously low quotes.

The three questions worth asking any operator

Do you monitor flights, and what happens if mine is delayed two hours? What is the cancellation deadline for this specific booking? And what happens if the vehicle breaks down on the way?
