TIFF transport: where a car can actually drop you, and where it cannot
A working guide to Toronto International Film Festival ground transport - the closed streets, the realistic collection points, and why a hourly booking beats two point-to-point trips.

King Street is the whole problem
For the duration of TIFF, King Street West through the entertainment district is given over to pedestrians and festival installations. That single closure changes every approach to Roy Thomson Hall, the Princess of Wales and the Lightbox. A car that could stop outside the door in August cannot get within two blocks in September, and the geography shifts again on red-carpet nights.
Drop-off versus collection
Getting there is easy: we drop on the nearest open cross street and you walk ninety seconds. Getting out is the hard part, because two thousand people leave at once and the surrounding blocks gridlock. The answer is always the same - agree a collection point far enough away that a vehicle can physically reach it, and accept a short walk instead of a forty-minute wait. Our chauffeur messages you the exact corner during the screening.
Why hourly wins during the festival
Most festival evenings are not one trip. They are a screening, then a party, then a hotel, with the timings moving as the night goes. Two separate point-to-point bookings cannot absorb that; an hourly booking can. The car stays with you, the chauffeur holds nearby, and nothing is re-quoted when the plan changes at eleven o'clock.
Industry travel, not just screenings
A large share of our September work is not audience travel at all - it is talent, publicists and distribution executives moving between the Lightbox, hotel suites on Bloor and dinners in Yorkville, often four or five stops in an evening. That is corporate chauffeur work with a film-festival timetable, and it wants a first class sedan and one chauffeur for the whole run.
Book early, and tell us the venue
Festival week is the single most committed fortnight in our calendar after New Year's Eve. Vehicles go first, then the chauffeurs who know the closures. Give us the venue name rather than a street address when you book - during TIFF the venue determines the approach, and the address alone will send a driver into a closed block.

The rest of the trip, booked in one place
We are partnered with BookingWorldwide.net for flights, hotels, resorts, activities, packages and car rentals — so the chauffeur at this end and everything at the far end can be arranged together.
