Stretch Limo & SUV Limousine in the Greater Toronto Area
Stretch limousine and stretch SUV hire across Toronto and the GTA for weddings, proms, birthdays and nights out - with a plain explanation of how the two differ before you book one.
Classic stretch versus stretch SUV
A classic stretch is a saloon - a Lincoln or Chrysler - cut and extended, with wraparound seating and a low, lounge-like cabin. A stretch SUV is built on a full-size SUV platform: taller, wider, more headroom, more presence at the door, and usually a bigger sound and lighting system. The classic is the more elegant car for a wedding; the SUV is the one groups pick for a birthday or a prom.
How many people actually fit
A classic stretch limousine is comfortable for eight and rated to ten. A stretch SUV typically runs to fourteen. Those are maximum loads with everyone in evening clothes - if you are at the limit and carrying coats, bags or gifts, go up a size. Luggage space in any stretch is limited by design: the cabin is the point, not the boot.
The minimums are different
A classic stretch limousine carries a three-hour minimum. A stretch SUV limousine carries five, the same as coaches and party buses. That difference surprises people, so it is worth knowing before you compare quotes - a five-hour minimum on a stretch SUV can cost more than a longer booking on a classic stretch.
What is inside
Perimeter seating, bar service, cabin and floor lighting, privacy partition and a sound system with Bluetooth. Stocking arrangements for the bar are confirmed when you book. Legal drinking age applies and is enforced by the chauffeur; smoking is not permitted in any vehicle.
Which occasions suit which
Weddings and anniversaries: classic stretch, for the photographs. Prom and birthdays: stretch SUV, for the room and the noise. Concerts and nights out: either, depending on group size. Corporate: neither - use a first class sedan or an executive Sprinter.
Stretch saloon or stretch SUV: how to choose
A classic stretch saloon sits low, rides softly and photographs beautifully - it is the traditional wedding and formal-occasion car. A stretch SUV sits high on a truck chassis, carries more people and more presence, and is what most groups picture when they say "limo". The stretch SUV is louder in every sense; the saloon is more restrained. Neither is better. Match the car to the evening, and tell us which you want when you book because they are different vehicles with different minimums.
The specific cars we run
Our named specialty vehicles are the stretched Hummer, the stretched Cadillac Escalade, the stretched Lincoln Navigator and, for couples rather than parties, a Rolls-Royce. Capacities, typical use and the constraints of each are set out on the fleet page. Note that a Rolls-Royce is a saloon booked for what it is - three or four passengers, not a group - and it commits earlier than anything else we operate.

What a stretch cannot do
Length is the whole constraint. A stretch limousine cannot use a standard underground parking entrance, cannot execute a tight three-point turn on a residential street, and cannot pull up at every venue door. Some downtown Toronto addresses have no legal stopping point for one at all. We check your pickup and drop-off before the day and tell you where the car will actually meet you - which occasionally is around the corner rather than at the door. An operator who promises otherwise has not checked.
Weddings, proms and the hourly minimum
Stretch vehicles are booked hourly with a minimum, and on peak dates that minimum is longer. For a wedding the useful pattern is a continuous booking that covers preparation, ceremony, photographs and the reception arrival, rather than three separate short hires that each carry a minimum. For prom, book the whole evening including the after-party leg - splitting it is more expensive, not less. Details on both are on the wedding and prom pages.
When a stretch is the wrong vehicle
For an airport transfer with luggage, an SUV or executive van carries the bags better and moves through the terminal roads more easily. For a corporate group of ten in business dress, a Sprinter is more appropriate and more comfortable. For a large celebrating group, a party bus gives more usable space per person. We will point you at the right one - a stretch booked for the wrong occasion is a car everyone is polite about and nobody enjoys.
What the hourly clock actually covers
The hourly clock runs from the time the vehicle is due at your first pickup, not from when the last person comes downstairs, and it runs continuously across stops rather than pausing while you are inside a venue. That is standard across the industry and it is why a continuous booking is nearly always cheaper than several short ones for the same evening. Your confirmation states the start time, the minimum and what an overrun costs, before you commit.
Photographs, and being honest about the car
The car in a limousine company's photograph is very often not the car that arrives. Ours is a genuine problem for the named specialty vehicles specifically, because we do not hold photographs of those exact cars and will not attach a stock image of a different one - the fleet page says so plainly and offers real photographs on request. If another operator's images look too perfect, ask them to send a picture of the actual vehicle with today's date on it.
Seating, comfort and the number that fits properly
A stretch's stated capacity assumes everyone seated on perimeter benches in ordinary clothes. In formal dress, with a gown or a suit jacket, the comfortable number is meaningfully lower than the maximum. For a wedding party in full dress, plan on roughly three-quarters of the rated capacity and the evening is far more pleasant. We would rather send a larger vehicle than have eight people arrive creased.
