How the coverage works
Every municipality listed here is a place we collect from and deliver to, and the same services are available from all of them — there is no inner and outer tier. Where geography changes the advice, the city page says so: Hamilton is about the escarpment, Burlington about the Skyway, Newmarket about Highway 404 and the snow belt, and Scarborough about crossing the whole city on the 401. Airport pickup times are calculated per address rather than per city — see the airports section.
Checking the roads before you travel
Journey times across this region are decided by three highways and one bridge, and none of them behave the same way twice. 511 Ontario publishes live provincial road conditions and closures, 407 ETR covers the toll route we use when it earns its keep, and Environment Canada is the one to check between December and March. We watch all three on the morning of an airport run rather than quoting from a map.
