Pearson Terminal 1 or Terminal 3: getting the pickup right
Which airlines use which Toronto Pearson terminal, why codeshares catch people out, where cars actually wait, and how much buffer a departure needs.

The two terminals are not interchangeable
Toronto Pearson runs two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 handles Air Canada, its Star Alliance partners and most transatlantic traffic. Terminal 3 handles WestJet, Air Transat, most US carriers and a broad mix of international airlines. They are ten minutes apart on the LINK train and considerably longer by road at peak.
Codeshares are where it goes wrong
The most common booking error we see is a terminal taken from the ticketed airline rather than the operating one. If you booked through one carrier and are flying on another's aircraft, the terminal follows the operator. Check the boarding pass, not the booking confirmation, and tell us which terminal when you book.
Where the car waits
Curbside on the arrivals level is the default, at the door nearest your baggage carousel - the chauffeur messages the door number once you land. It is the fastest way out. If you would rather be met inside with a name board and have your bags carried, add meet and greet, which is the right call for a first visit, an elderly passenger or a client you want received properly.
How much buffer a departure needs
There is no single answer, which is why we do not publish one. It depends on your address, the terminal, whether you are checking bags, whether the flight is domestic or international, and the hour. A 6am pickup in Oakville for a 9am transatlantic departure is a different sum from a 4pm pickup in Markham for a domestic hop. We calculate it for the specific trip.
Consider whether Pearson is even the right airport
For passengers in the west end, Hamilton is frequently faster door-to-gate. For a same-day Ottawa or Montreal meeting from a Bay Street office, Billy Bishop usually wins outright. And for US domestic flights, Buffalo is often materially cheaper even after the border.

The rest of the trip, booked in one place
We are partnered with BookingWorldwide.net for flights, hotels, resorts, activities, packages and car rentals — so the chauffeur at this end and everything at the far end can be arranged together.
