A practical guide to booking a Toronto Pearson airport limo
Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, curbside or meet and greet, how much buffer a departure really needs, and what waiting time you are actually entitled to.

Start with the terminal, not the airline
Pearson has two passenger terminals and they are not interchangeable. Terminal 1 handles Air Canada, its Star Alliance partners and most transatlantic traffic. Terminal 3 handles WestJet, Air Transat, most US carriers and a broad mix of international airlines. Codeshares confuse this constantly - the ticket may say one airline while the aircraft is operated by another, and the terminal follows the operator. Check the terminal on your boarding pass rather than assuming, and tell us which one when you book.
Arrivals: curbside is faster, meet and greet is calmer
Curbside pickup on the arrivals level is the quickest way out of the airport. Your chauffeur waits in the holding lot, you message when you have your bags, and the car is at the door by the time you reach it. Meet and greet puts the chauffeur inside the terminal at the arrivals door with a name board, which costs a supplement and takes a few minutes longer, but is the right call for a first visit to Canada, an elderly passenger, an unaccompanied minor or a client you want received properly.
How much waiting time you actually get
Waiting time on arrivals runs from touchdown, not from the scheduled arrival. Domestic flights include a shorter grace period than international ones, because international passengers have customs to clear. If you are held at the border for two hours, the meter does eventually start - but any competent operator monitors the flight and knows the difference between a passenger who is delayed and a passenger who is not coming.
Departures: the buffer is the whole job
A departure pickup time is a calculation, not a rule of thumb. It depends on where you are, what time of day the route runs, which terminal you need, whether you are checking bags and whether you are flying internationally. A 6am pickup from Oakville for a 9am transatlantic departure out of Terminal 1 is a completely different sum from a 4pm pickup in Markham for a domestic hop out of Terminal 3. Ask for the pickup time to be calculated rather than guessed, and if an operator gives you the same answer regardless of the details, ask somebody else.
The small things that go wrong
The three most common problems we see are all avoidable: the wrong terminal on the booking, no flight number so the trip cannot be monitored, and a group that turns out to have more luggage than the vehicle class can carry. All three are fixed at the moment of booking by telling the operator what is actually happening.
